HIGHLY AUTOMATED SELF-PROPELLED HOWITZER USING NATO STANDARD CALIBER 155 MM
Self-propelled howitzer DITA 155 mm is a modern artillery weapon with an automatic targeting and reloading system. It is based on original Czechoslovak concept of Tatra howitzers, but it takes the autonomy of operation to a new level.
Self-propelled howitzer DITA offers a high rate of fire and it is equipped with a modern fire control system, that allows rapid deployment and leaving firing position. DITA is highly accurate and excels in difficult terrain, making it very effective even in challenging conditions.
DITA is designed as a separate superstructure on the TATRA 8×8 chassis, but thanks to its fully autonomous operation capability, the crew can operate the gun even in case of chassis failure or its deliberate shut down. This flexibility allows the weapon superstructure to be placed on other types of vehicles, such as tracked vehicles, which significantly increases its versatility.
DITA is equipped with a 155 mm gun with a barrel length of 45 calibers providing a firing range up to 39 km.
Fully automated system allows the vehicle to be operated by only 2 crew members – driver and commander. The superstructure is also equipped with an emergency workstation, which can be occupied by a third member as needed.
